In the Moray local government council areal of Scotland country, is located an ancient city called by the name Elgin.

Long ago, Elgin was referred to as cathedral city by many for playing host to the world famous Elgin cathedral which was at some point known to be one of if not actually the most beautiful cathedral in Scotland.

Elgin which is the administrative and commercial centre for Moray was also a royal burgh at inception.

Elgin is notably rich in cultural and historic heritage as it is an ancient royal city in which the remains and ruins of many royal monuments and historic landmarks still stand till date. The history of the city connotes much royalty as records have it that king Edward I of England embarked on voyages to Elgin on two historic occasions first of which was in 1296.
